Wristrate: Currency Converter

Wristrate is a currency converter for Wear OS that runs on the watch by itself. Pick two currencies, type an amount, and the converted value is on your wrist - no phone in your hand.

158 CURRENCIES AND BITCOIN
Choose from 158 world currencies plus Bitcoin (BTC). Each one carries its flag, the popular currencies sit at the top of the list, and a search field finds any other by its code or its name. One tap on the swap button turns the pair around.

EXCHANGE RATES, HONESTLY DESCRIBED
The exchange rates are daily reference rates published by central banks, fetched through the Frankfurter service. They are updated once a working day, not live trading quotes, so use them for travel, shopping and quick sums - not for trading. The screen shows when the rates were last updated.

BITCOIN
The BTC to US dollar price comes from Coinbase's public spot price, and the app shows the time it was checked. Bitcoin against any other currency is an indicative cross rate, worked out through the daily reference rates. Results in BTC are shown to eight decimal places.

WORKS OFFLINE
Every successful download saves all the rates on the watch. After that, any pair converts offline from the last saved rates - on a flight, abroad without data, or with the phone left at home. When a connection is back, tap the status line to refresh. Until the very first download, the app shows no result rather than an invented one.

MADE FOR A ROUND SCREEN
A large number pad with a decimal point, thousands separators as you type, a pure black background and a scrollbar on every list. Text follows the font size you set on the watch.
