Short but good. More of a visual novel. The "gameplay" grew to be a chore. Most of the time, you read books by tapping approaching thought bubbles, but there's no clicker system like the first game. I ended up just wanting to get through with it to get to the parts I actually like. The picture books were nice. The dream art, and writing were captivating. I felt Es's loneliness and boredom. I liked Es already and I grew to love her more. If you liked Alter Ego, Alter Ego Complex is worth playing!

Alter Ego Complex definitely has improved gameplay to avoid the first game's repetitive click and play.. But I do find that this spin off was too short and was a bit plain. It didn't really much gain insight of Es, it only speaks of Es's dreams and desires.. It definitely is satisfactory improved gameplay wise, but the rest could be improved a little bit more!

It's a beautiful story, about loneliness, self-discovery, and the wonders reading can give us, it reminds me of my love for novels in my youth, and I decided to read again. regarding the game though, you will enjoy it better if you played Alter Ego, the other one, the clicker game first.
