About this app

Text Reader is a text to speech app that reads your articles, documents, ebooks, and messages out loud, word for word, in 70+ languages - so you can listen instead of read.

Why listen instead of read

- Rest your eyes and reduce screen time.
- Save battery by listening with the screen off.
- Learn and stay productive while commuting, exercising, cooking, or working with your hands.

Listening

- Listen with the screen locked - control playback from the lock screen, notification, and Bluetooth.
- Adjustable speed - from slow up to 3x for skimming or careful listening.
- Male and female voices, with pitch control to raise or lower the voice.
- Follow-along highlighting - see each word as it is spoken.
- Repeat mode - loop the current text to listen again.
- Resume where you left off - the app remembers your place.

Your texts

- Import PDF, Word, EPUB, and text files, or share text from any app to start listening instantly.
- Open with Text Reader - tap a document in any app and have it read to you right away.
- Save a library of texts and search it anytime, even offline.
- Clean Symbols - skip stray characters like asterisks so they are not spoken.
- Handles long texts - uninterrupted playback for articles, chapters, and reports.
- Generate audio from text - save it as an audio file and listen in any music app.
- Export to PDF or a text file - keep a copy of your text on your device.

More

- Dark mode that follows your device theme.
- Right-to-left support for Hebrew, Arabic, and more.
- Works on phones and tablets - smooth performance across devices.

Whether you want to read books and novels on the road, catch up on articles, or get through work documents hands-free, Text Reader reads every word so you never miss a thing.

It's a good app as I can see, not scam, it really allows you to import and export text and not only reads it but it gives different speed and pitch options. It has ads but they don't get in the way while using the app. I would even be glad to have some ads button to get credits for further new options.

🌟 Wow! 🌟 You're seriously the coolest developer ever. Added this pause feature exactly as it should be in such a short time. Salutes 🫡 🔄 Repeating each sentence x time would make it perfect 🔄 I wasn't expecting such quality for the standard voices. The option for automatically removing unwanted characters like * and also being able to add your custom ones is really great and saves you from a very common headache in TTS apps. I try to open interesting ads, generating some revenue 🤞

Thank you so much for taking the time to update your review and for being such a loyal user - it really means a lot! We're glad we could get the pause feature out to you so quickly, and yes, it's adjustable by percentage just as you asked.

I personally like the previous version better. where it did not force me to read the specific section that it's on. now it's Scrolls and messes me up when I'm trying to clarify on exactly what I just said. I wish there was a way I could turn off the scrolling. Updated. I added a star but I can't give it the last because they fixed the scrolling issue by allowing it to be optional. However, now there's a weird bug where it continues to stay on my notification panel until the app is gone.
